New Ullswater Hopper Bus Services for 2024

Great news! Following the success of the Ullswater Hopper Bus in 2023, the service has been extended for 2024.  There will be two buses running in the valley connecting accommodations with attractions and linking the valley to Penrith and Keswick.

UB1 (Ullswater Bus 1) will run between Aira Force and Howtown via Watermillock Accommodations and Pooley Bridge. It will stop at three of the Ullswater Steamer Piers.

The 509 is a completely new service that will run through the Ullswater Valley from Keswick to Penrith via Troutbeck, Aira Force, Pooley Bridge, Lowther Castle and Penrith Station.

The service will run Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays from 23rd March 2024- 3rd November 2024.

The Ullswater Bus serves both visitors and local residents and trips are priced at £2 single, with under 5s going free. Concessionary fares are supported. Wheelchair space available. USB sockets at every seat.

It’s a wonderful initiative, which is helping to move Ullswater to a place where the preferred transportation is via Bus, Bike, Boot and Boat.
